Details: I have a 1980 Volkswagen Vanagon Westfalia that I have owned since 1996. It does not run. It ran this past summer when I pulled it out of the garage but the next day there was a loud clunk immediately after starting it and it stopped running. I believe it is a broken valve. The engine is a 1300 that was rebuilt in ´97 and may be worth repairing. All RV appliances including the 3-way refrigerator (gas, electric or battery), 2-burner stove, sink, onboard 5-gallon water tank and 12V pump are all present and work although the propane system has a leak and it leaks down in about 24 hours. All curtains including the front windshield snap-on privacy curtain, back hatch original bug screen as well as the popup canvas are in excellent shape. The upstairs bed fabric and cushions are in excellent shape. The rear bench (that folds into a bed) and front seat material is in poor shape. The body has the original paint and has rust in the usual Vanagon places. The tires are very old and dry rotted. It comes with 2 sets of wheels, the original steel and 4 Mercedes alloy that are a little wider for better highway speed stability. As you may have discovered, most Vanagons are going for extreme amounts. I am selling this one for $1500.00. Low ball? Don´t call! It is already a very low price for a very complete and ready to restore or rebuild Vanagon. I have a few more pictures if you are interested.
