Details: Ok, here´s the deal. I´m selling my trusty 1.8L turbo Jetta to move over to a Subaru. As indicated above, this car does have a rebuilt title. My understanding is that the car was in a front-end crash several years back, followed by a purchase by the folks at Austin Veedub (http://www.austinveedub.com/), where the car was rebuilt. I was shocked when they told me the Jetta would be coming with a ´rebuilt´ mark on the blue title, as it ran (and runs) and looked fantastic. Anyway, I purchased it from Veedub 3 summers ago.The Jetta´s been a fun ride, but it´s time to move on. The car itself is in pretty solid mechanical shape with no check engine lights/goofy sounds and has pretty low mileage for its year at about 90,700.The Good:- It´s a 5-speed; still shifts nice and smooth, clutch still feels solid.- Battery replaced this last fall, new alternator last spring.- A/C still blows cold (Veedub replaced the compressor a couple months after I purchased the car, July 2009 or so).- Low mileage at under 91k, gas mileage pretty solid at ~23-27mpg depending on driving conditions and gas type.- Timing belt was replaced during the ´rebuilding´ that Veedub did, I´ve estimated at about 55-60k miles or so.- Sunroof, power windows and locks, etc. still work great.- Any problems that´ve popped up on the car were taken care of quickly (that compressor, the alternator last year, regular oil changes at jiffy lube/Veedub). VW issued 2 recalls for this Jetta, a power coil change and a ´sunroof drain duct fix;´ both were done late 2009/early 2010 at Charles Maund on Burnet.The Bad:- Rebuilt title, see above.- There is a small crack (pictured below) in the car´s front bumper.- There is a small(er) crack in the windshield from a rock kicked up by a ginormous truck a few summers back.- Interior aesthetics are not in excellent shape; I´d probably give it a 3-5/10. This includes a droopy headliner that will need to be replaced at some point.- The glove box still opens, but the little latch has fallen off. I have the little pieces in the car´s armrest but haven´t attempted to glue anything back on.- Far right passenger-side a/c vent cannot be adjusted.I´m asking $3500, not totally set in stone.
