Details: Here is a 2002 VW Cabrio convertible with a 5 speed transmission & just over 140,000 miles. The car runs and looks great. It was purchased for my 16 year old daughter and the only reason we are electing to sell it is because it is a manual and for a new driver an automatic would have been a better choice. The car is in nice shape however it could use a little tlc. There is a scrape on the passenger side door and quarter panel, a small rust bubble spot on the same rear wheel well opening and a 12´ crack in the windshield on the drivers side, but even with the flaws mentioned, this Cabrio really does look great. Some fresh paint and she would look good as new. The mobile windshield reapair gave an estimate of $175 to replace the windshield in our driveway. The genuine black leather interior is in great shape with no rips or tears, nice carpets, dash and headliner, a nice convertible top with no holes. One seam is just starting to part on the thop, but we have not had any issues with leaking. The top works fine in automatic mode and we have had it down a lot now that spring is here. All the windows work fine. The check engine light is on, but the voltage regulator was changed in February by a private mechanic and I haven´t taken it to VW to reset the light. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the car mechanically, and since purchasing it a little over a year ago I´ve had all of its scheduled maintenance checkups at VW of CR. This is an all around great car. The interior is in great condition, I´ve kept it clean since the moment I had it. The only thing I´ve done to it was put in a custom radio, so that you can plug in an iPod via USB while still being able to adjust volume on the steering wheel. The car has 48k miles on it, and everything on it feels tight and is in proper working order.The price I´m asking is according to the Kelley Blue Book value of an 06 GTI in good condition, and this is for one small reason. The car is about 99% flawless, but in the past few months It´s developed a very small patch of rust underneath the drivers side front fender. It has 71000 miles, the vast majority of which are highway miles. It has had regular oil changes, and check ups. The tires are about 2 years old with plenty of tread left. The rear brakes were replaced last fall. A purchase inspection done recently gave it a good bill of health. I´ve driven manuals my entire life, and this one really shifts like a dream. The exterior is overall good. Some small scratches/dents, but nothing out of the ordinary for a 4 year old car. The interior I would consider to be in very good shape.
