Details: I bought this 2003 GTi back in September but found out as of last month that in May i will be moving to South Korea. The car is in great mechanical working order but does have some flaws. It has around 102,000 miles but is my daily driver so may have a bit more, also it´s black in color. The down sides all have come before I purchased the car. Someone had, from what I can tell backed into the front of the car and so the body line in the front is off some and missing VW logo(will show in picture) also it broke part of the driver side aftermarket bumper, so you can remove it if you would like, it´s not very noticeable but I can show you. The other thing is that the windshield is cracked and the rims had curb rash. I have been really busy and that´s why I haven´t fixed everything on the car yet. The good is that The car has an after market lowered bumper, suspension and turbo gauge, I also believe it has an aftermarket BOV for the turbo. the CARFAX shows that the engine was replaced at 17,000 miles so the OD shows 102,000 but the engine only has 85,000 on the 1.8 turbo. It has ran perfectly for me without any problems for the three months I´ve had it. It has 158,700 miles on it right now (152,800 when I bought it). I have replaced the timing belt and bought brand new Michelin all season tires for it less than a month ago (which is around a $1100 price wise). Details: This Jetta is a 2.0 with a manual transmission and has just been detailed and had the engine cleaned. It has 110,000 miles. I often get between 32 and 34 mpg on the highway. I don´t do a lot of pure city driving, so I really haven´t calculated the city mpg. I´m only selling it because I bought a lower mileage car. It runs great and is fun to drive. It has a new water pump, timing belt, battery, headlights, wheel covers, and relatively new tires. The downside is that it has a salvage title and has a few issues. Nothing affects the running condition. Here are the issues in the order in which they might annoy someone.The car was in an accident prior to me purchasing the car. Whoever put it back together must have miswired the trunk lock because sometimes when you turn off the headlights, the trunk comes unlocked. On this vehicle the trunk does not open when it is unlocked. In fact, I often drive with the trunk unlocked and have never had an issue even on the freeway. Worst case I get out and shut the trunk. It´s only happened to me when the car is stopped.The hood is sometimes difficult to shut, and there is a trick to getting it open that I can show you if you come look at the car, but it opens easily.There is a crack in the front windshield near the bottom center. It does not obstruct visibility when driving, but you might want to get it fixed. There is some yellow paint just behind the driver side front tire on the body from where I ran over a yellow line that had been freshly painted. The knobs for the stereo adjustment are missing. Evidently, this is something that is cool in some circles because of the red lights behind the knobs. Removing the knobs allows the lights to shine brighter at night. It´s never bothered me because I adjusted the stereo settings when I bought the car, and I´m not sure that I´ve adjusted them since. So, if you are willing to deal with those items, you can save a bundle on this car. Cars in great condition seem to be running between $7,000 and $8,000 from what I can tell on craigslist and other web sites. Check out the pics and let me know if you want to see the car.
