I love it to death, but due to finances I have to let it go. It will need tires very soon and is in need of a new canvas top for the pop top. It runs and drives very well and I´ve taken it back and forth on camping trips all over Colorado, it has never let me down. Car ran well when the transmission worked - had regular oil changes (full synthetic) and maintenance done. Timing belt, water pump, etc. was just changed less than 20,000 miles ago. CEL comes on for the Secondary Air Pump but I never cared enough to look at it. Tires are ok with 20% of tread remaining on the front two and 70% on the rear. Replaced stock exhaust with GLI exhaust around 70,000 miles due to failing cat and replaced all 4 shocks with stiffer OEM version. This car is quick - just needs a working transmission. Details: I am selling my 2003 Golf TDI. I purchased this car in 2005 with 23,500 miles and I am the second owner. It now has 117,000 miles. It is a 2-door, automatic, with power windows, doors, mirrors, and A/C, cruise control, rear defrost, tilt. It is gold with black interior.This car has always driven great and has always been mechanically sound. I have never had to repair anything major that was not general maintenance.Recent repairs include:(in order of most recent)Replaced both front control arms and left front wheel bearing, with alignment Replaced vacuum booster hoseReplaced timing belt and water pumpReplaced glow plug harness and all 4 glow plugsAll four tires were replaced about 30,000 miles ago and still have very good tread. The spare is full size and has good tread as well. I have always kept up with oil changes and general maintenance. This car still gets 35mpg city and 50mpg highway. For the past year or so, it has primarily only been driven to and from work. I am actually going to really miss driving this car, but my wife and I are moving out of state this year so we are going to downsize to one car until the move. I am asking $5500 OBO.
