Details: I have a 2002 Volkswagen Jetta with the 1.8 liter turbocharged engine, tiptronic automatic transmission, with 131,000 miles. This has been my wifes daily driver for 4 years now, and has been a great car for us. We purchased with 56,000 miles and have had very few issues with it. I replace the timing belt, tensioner, and water pump at just over 90,000 miles, and at that time switched over to amzoil full synthetic oil as well. Car currently has a set of firestone winterforce snow tires on steel wheels, these were purchased new in december. I have a second set of aluminum Jetta rims with worn out pirelli´s on them. Ignition coils were replaced under recall by the dealer about 30k miles ago. Car does have a few cosmetic flaws typical of the year and mileage, one spot of rust, and a crack in the windshield. Everything functions as it should however, and I would not hesitate to drive this to florida today. We average about 28mpg with mixed driving, 32+ on the highway. Price reflects the few things it needs fixed (rust, windshield) and the cost of new summer tires. Once I deal with these, the price will go up, I just thought I´d throw this out here as is first. Asking $5500 OBO, no lowballers. Only trades I would consider is towards an ´02+ Xterra or a V8 WJ laredo, both with less than 150k. Motor is 1641cc with alot of chrome, 34mm weber single carb, new fuel pump, new pistons jugs and rings. No heater boxes but the tubes are still in the car so it can be hooked up to have heat. The trans has been completely rebuilt. Has 16 inch painted to match crager steel wheels with hankook street tires. Interior has a new head liner, new sun visors, new center console, summit racing seats and fiber glass low back seats in the rear. Paint has a couple little blemishes nothing bad. Has four wheel disk breaks with stainless steel lines but no emergency brake. Has a custom made strut bar for better handling. Has all new gas and break lines with new master cylinder. Car runs great and looks better, BUT it needs a new fuel filter and the carb cleaned out. Will have to be towed because of the dirty carb wont let car get above 30 mph.
