Her parents purchased the car in 2006 and she took over the payments. She has driven it for about 3.5 years. We are only selling this because she purchased a new Lexus and no longer have any use for the car. It is the dark blue exterior with the black cloth interior. It DOES NOT have a sunroof or a CD player. It does have a cassette player which she used a digital tape to run a MP3 player. Overall the car is in good condition however I know of two issues after inspecting the car. The rear passenger side break light is out. Easy fix I plan to fix that this week.The only ´major issue´ with the car is that the driver side window motor is out. I have all the components for the door. I took the door apart and planned to fix it but the part was on back order from Volkswagen and she needed the car to commute to work. There is no aftermarket it must come from VW. The part is around $300.00 or so. Due to the fact the components are out the power to the driver´s side door DOES NOT work.We have priced this vehicle competitively due to the repair needed. It has 185,000 (give or take a few hundred) miles but has been kept up well with routine maintenance (oil changes, tune ups, rotating tires etc). I use this car as my daily driver and it averages out around 21-24 mpg city and on the few road trips i have taken it on, it got around 27 mpg driving at 70-80 mph. The only time this car has ever left me stranded was due to a bad battery (which has been replaced). This car starts on the first turn of the key EVERY time!!! the body is in good condition apart from one rust spot on the door frame right below the rear driver side door. Clutch and tranny are in great working order!!! I am not selling this car because there is something wrong with it I´m looking for a 6 cylinder 4x4. Details: Get out and go camping this spring! 143,476k miles on ODO--only 35k on a re-built water-cooled engine. This particular Westy has a rare automatic transmission. It has a kitchenette (micro-fridge and stove), plenty of cabinet space, an extra captain´s chair which swivels, and a pop-top canvas / screen roof that is in pretty decent shape. I drove it for several years and took it on a few road trips and camping without any major mechanical problems. The upholstery, carpet, windows, curtains, etc. are in fairly good shape and could be restored with minimal effort. However, it has been parked for 4 years in a non-climate controlled barn and has subsequently fallen victim to rodent activity. The exterior has a bit of rust on the bumpers and a few dings and dents, but is otherwise ok. The van may need a tune-up and a system flush, and will probably need new belts and tires. Currently, it is not driveable meaning it will need to be flat-bed towed to a mechanic before fully functional.With a bit of time and TLC, this Westy could be up and running and would be a great weekend getaway vehicle!$3,500.00, AS-IS.
