Details: I am looking to trade my 2000 Volkswagen Passat. 1.8t, automatic, 135,xxx miles. Car is in very good condition, a few cosmetic flaws but nothing noticeable from more than a couple feet away. Car is absolutely free of any moderate or severe defects and runs and drives beautifully. Everything on car works. The ONLY reason I am looking to trade is that I have driven a manual for years, and switching to an automatic was just the wrong choice. I absolutely love the car and really love driving it, I just wish it was manual. Heated seats, will have 6-disc changer, sunroof, power everything, A/C works great.The worst problem is that the hood and front bumper have a few scratches and a little peeling of the clear coat, but you can´t even notice it from more than a few feet away. You can´t see it in the pictures at all, which were taken from about 8 feet. The interior is in excellent condition, the leather all intact an free of any tears or burns. Carpets are clean, very well maintained car. Regular oil changes and tune ups, I firmly believe in taking good care of my cars and keeping them clean.The check engine light is on and is throwing a code for a mass air flow sensor, which I plan on replacing. The stereo currently installed in the car is not included, unless it is a trade up or there is some cash involved. The stock stereo will be placed back in the car, which still works perfectly fine. I am looking to stick with a European car, preferrably Volkswagen Passat, Jetta, Golf (gti??) all with preferably the V6 (however I would absolutely consider otherwise), Audi of any sort, Volvo or BMW of any sort. MUST BE MANUAL TRANSMISSION! That is the ONLY reason I am trading. I absolutely do not want any American made car, most likely will not want Japanese either, but will consider. If you´ve ever owned a Euro you would understand. And no, I do not want your beater and some cash. I would like a car that is comparable to mine in mileage, condition, and options. Details: These cars are awesome and are difficult to find! I have taken very good care of this car since the day I bought it. It has been garaged for the past 2 years. Much of the interior has been replaced by the interior from an 89 cabriolet. Also, I have put the alloy wheels from an 89 cabriolet on it. It will come with both the 89 wheels and the original 88 wheels (with all center caps). 6 of the 8 tires have plenty of life left.This car has controls for cruise control and A/C. I have never gotten them to work, but I assume all the equipment is there.This 1988 VW Cabriolet is in good condition. It cranks up right away, runs smoothly, and shifts easily. I have used it as a daily driver for 4 years now. I usually use it for short trips around town, but it has made it through a couple of 150-200 mile trips as well. It is an old car and does have some quirks as any old car does. It is not perfect: there is a short in the oil sensor, but the engine has plenty of oil pressure (inspected by mechanic and can produce documents on demand), there is a click while going in reverse. The body still has a good shine. There are the usual dents/dings of a car this age. Recent work has included: new head gasket, new timing belt, new starter motor, new fuel pump, inspection/replacement of vacuum hoses. Top is in good condition. Note: This car is currently is South Bend, but will be coming with me on my move to Indianapolis June 1 (unless it sells before then!)
