Details: This is my 2005 Volkswagen Passat with a 5 speed manual transmission. I absolutely love this car and im only selling it because im leaving the country and cant take it with me. I bought this car back in July of 2011 so ive only had it around 6 months. the first thing i did when i got it was put in a timing belt, which if you know volkswagens, that is one of the most important things to have changed regularly. This car also has a 12 disc cd changer in the trunk along with the cd player in the dash. It has black leather seats with no tears, and it looks amazing inside. It also has a moonroof/sunroof that operates perfectly.It has had some new parts installed in the last year or so besides that timing belt. When i bought it, the windshield was cracked and so it was replaced 6 months ago. Also my wife got hit up by the front bumper and it had to be replaced along with the side quarterpanel and some small pieces inside. Well.. this posting is directed to you and your kind.I purchased this car in 2005 or so, drove it for about a year, and then decided to restore it. About 3/47ths into the process I lost interest, and the car has been sitting --garaged, mind you-- ever since. All peices are accounted for, but the trunk lid, doors, seats, and fenders have been removed. I started grinding the fenders in preparation for painting, but wore out pretty fast. Please note, what you´re looking at is an unfinished restoration.The good:-The car ran last time it was coaxed... but that was 2006..-All fenders have been replaced at some point, and are rust free.-The car is an absolute joy to drive.-4 spd manual. Clutch works.The rest:-Origional color was Sumatra green, but at some point was repainted red.-Previous owner installed Clarion cd player and modern speakers.-Odometer does not work, and I have no idea how many miles the beast was driven.-Upholstery is adequate, but by no means exceptional. Here a hole, there a hole.. a whole lot of holes.Pic is from before the great destruction, and is not current.Price is flexible; make an offer. Details: I´m selling my R32 to get into something a bit cheaper. The 04 R32 is the second rarest VW model in the US, only 5000 were shipped to the US from Germany. Car has a 3.2 liter VR6 which stands for v-reihenmotor which is German for ´row engine´. Stock the car is rated at 240hp and 236lb/ft of torque but this has been increased slightly due to light modifications. The car has a ECU flash which increases the HP by about 15HP and also gets rid of a bit of lag in throttle response. The car was on a chassis dyno before I had it and with a cold air intake it produced 222AWHP. Using that number and account for drive train loss I calculated the engine HP to be about 260-270HP. Other modifications to the car include a short throw shifter, Neuspeed underdrive pulleys and a exhaust resonator delete. As far as fuel economy, the car is very easy on gas when you want it to be. In town driving at 25-30mph I can have it in 5th gear and if I don´t accelerate to hard I can get 21mpg. On the highway I am able to get 29mpg doing 65-70mph, combined with a 16 gallon gas tank it can hold out for fairly long trips. The car is AWD which uses a Haldex differential to control the power to the rear wheels. It is a great AWD system and every time I go from my R32 to a front wheel drive car I feel helpless on snow. It has an advanced program for its electronic stability program that takes into account wheel speed, throttle position, steering wheel position and other car telemetry to decide which wheel to put the power to. The R32 has been described in comparison to the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution and Subaru WRX STi as having 90% of the performance and 125% of the luxury. ****Car does have a 1 1/4´ receiver under the back license plate. I have used this for a receiver mounted bike rack but can be used to pull a small trailer****The car does have a prior salvage on it which means it had a salvage title but it was repaired and got re-certified in Iowa. The work was done by a VW shop in Dubuque where I bought the car from. He´s a real good guy and knows his VW´s and the work done on the car was top notch.I am posting the car now still needing to do a couple things to the car which I will get done before I sell it. I am ordering new plastic for the front right wheel well liner because it isn´t in great condition currently. Also I am getting a shop to replace the right front wheel bearing again because they screwed up on their first try and its bad again.
