Details: This is an absolutely beautiful 1985 VW convertible with a Rabbit style body (can you tell I´m not very knowledgeable about cars?). I purchased this a couple of months ago from a VW restorer, and while I adore this car, I cannot drive a manual. It´s a five speed, really great on gas, and a lot of fun to drive (or so my sister says). The person I bought it from purchased it from a family, the original owner had passed away. High miles (190000), but you can expect that from a 26 year old car. There does seem to be a short in the cable that runs from the battery to the alternator. The car is able to be jumped off, but if it sits with the cable still connected to the battery, the battery will drain. I´m selling this car for 1000.00 or best reasonable offer. Details: I have for sale a 96 Passat TDI that I´ve owned for about 3 years. It now has 185k miles and going strong. I changed the timing belt at about 120k. Tires are uniroyal and about 70%. I consistently get 50 MPG on hwy and 43 local driving. Also has sunroof, ac, cruise, 5 speed manual, ps, pb, pw, pl, am fm cassette. This car has not been smoked in. Paint has a few scratches, some rust popping up on front right fender, head liner coming down, right rear power window does not operate and is closed, carpet and upholstery has normal wear with a significant tear on driver´s seat back. There also appears to be an oil leak coming from the oil cooler area. I add about 1 quart between oil changes. I haven´t taken time to fix it yet.
