Details: I have a 1992 VW jetta race car it has the stock 1.8L SOHC 4 cylinder engine with an upgraded cam and head from a 1998 jetta 2.0L the engine runs fine a little high idle but it settles down after it warms up. Manual five speed transmission shifts smooth and clutch is in good shape an extra transmission linkage is included. It also has a honda radiator from a 1995 honda civic it was put in to help the car run cooler because it is a bit larger and has a cooling fan. New interstate battery included as well as a smaller fuel tank to decrease weight. New front struts in it as well as brakes. It has a roll cage and racing seat and is pretty much ready to race. It was Previously raced at Slinger in the slinger bee class and should be able to run in similar classes at other tracks. Body has been dented and pounded back out but for a race car it is in good shape. It does have some rust on the body and alot underneath the car but it is a tough car and held up just fine last season. To be honest it does not have a lot of power but handles very well and would make a great beginner car. Also included is all the original glass that is not cracked so that it could be stored outside as well as extra tires and rims. All interior parts have been already removed and is completely ready to race $650 or trade for a honda shell or a 91-96 escort hatchback or other shells maybe some high value electronics like an ipad 1, 2, or 3 just no tvs. email or call/text at 414-690-4716 for any other info or offers. Details: Will be getting more pictures up soon.The ODO currently sits at 178000 miles. The paint has some sore spots, but the front and rear bumpers and lips are only about a year old (the paint was cracking on both so they were both redone. The interior is nice the heated leather seats both work and have no rips or tears. A/C has been deleted when engine was rebuilt. Has Monsoon stereo with 6 disc changer.The current engine has an AEB head (the wideport one) it has the nice wide inlet ports but it has no port for secondary air injection. so this car will throw a CEL unless you get some software flashed on the ecu that doesn´t look for SAI. So keep this in mind if you live in an area that does emission testing. I just register my car in a county that doesn´t and all is well.Car has no known mechanical problems. Starts, runs, drives and stops excellent!Timing belt, water pump, tensioner, and thermostat were all replaced about 2000 miles ago. The seals in all the AC lines were all replaced recently but the compressor is dead. It is currently out of the car. You will need a new compressor to get the AC to run. The power steering rack was replaced about 1000 miles ago (seals were shot on the old one). The hinge on the armrest is broken as well, but this seems to be the case on most mk4s.Bike rack is included.There aren´t many mods but I will list off what I can remember.Eibach springs (with new struts front and back as of last fall) car will also come with stock springs and stuff.Samco turbo inlet pipeForge DV (recently lubed)Ko3s (original ko3 had dead seals after 100k miles)battery is in the trunkheadlights are Helix projectors. I have an HID setup for them but one of the bulbs is dead so they just have halogens in them right now. New hid bulbs can be purchased for about 40 bucks.4 Clean AUDI Fat Five wheels with matching low mile tires + a matching Fat Five spare (5 wheels)!Also includes a spare driver side axle and a box full of parts!The software on the ECU is unknown. it was on there when I purchased the car. When washed & waxed, car still shines like new. NO major dents, ONE minor ding on trunk. All glass/windows in great condition. No breaks or cracks.Interior:Could use a good cleaning. Nothing that isnt normal wear and tear, but it could use a good shampooing since I usually drive this car from and to work with dirty work clothes on. No rips, and everything is fully functional.In closure, this is a great car that has never let me down. I have had no issues with it, besides normal wear and tear stuff. Last summer the alternator was replaced, and last month the brakes/rotors were replaced. Check engine light came on last week, and I took it in. Need oxygen sensor, but that will be fixed before sold. Car has passed emissions since I´ve owned it (5 years), so no concerns there. Maintenance has always been on time. Tuneup just done in December, and oil (full synthetic) is changed every 2,500 miles. On the picture, car is pictured with the stock/factory allows that were on there when I bought the car. I´ve recently sold those, so I have regular wheels with VOLKSWAGEN hubcaps, which are in excellent condition. Tires are in decent shape to. Need more info, e-mail me. Will reply ASAP. It´s not the best looking car in the world but will do what you need from it, get you from point A to point B.Things replaced since ownership.-Spark plugs-Spark plug wires-Cap and rotor-Brakes and rotors (Fronts)-Ball joints (Both sides)-Inner and outer tie rods (Both sides)-Wheel bearings (both sides)-Exhaust (Magnaflow, not super loud, decent sounding)-New tires-Axles (both sides)The car runs great, I´ve drove it to MN and back on several occasions and have never had a problem. Average of 30-35 mpg on those trips.The bad-Does use oil. My guess would be leaky valve steam guides as it puffs a little smoke only on morning start ups.-Power steering leaks and whines a little but still works.-Sunroof leaks a little after heavy storms.-Handbrake cables stick if used, leaving handbrake engaged.-Heat works, A/C does not (may just need a recharge)-Rusty, but no rust on strut towers-Horrible paint job.This car has been great to me and has served its purpose now its time to go. I would like to get try for $900 but of course its negotiable. This needs to sell quick also has I am leaving to go back to MN on Sunday and want this gone by then. If it doesn´t sell here I´ll just have to drive it back to Mn and try there. It does have Mn plates currently.
