Details: I just lowered the price by $500 to sell before I move on June 1st!!!!This 1988 VW Cabriolet is in good condition. It cranks up easily, runs smoothly, and shifts easily. I have used it as a daily driver for 4 years now. I usually use it for short trips around town, but it has made it through a couple of 150-200 mile trips as well. It is an old car and does have some quirks as any old car does. It is not perfect: there is a short in the oil sensor, but the engine has plenty of oil pressure (inspected by mechanic and can produce documents on demand), there is a click while going in reverse. The body still has a good shine. There are the usual dents/dings of a car this age. Recent work has included: new head gasket, new timing belt, new starter motor, new fuel pump, inspection/replacement of vacuum hoses. Top is in good condition. These cars are awesome and are difficult to find! I have taken very good care of this car since the day I bought it. It has been garaged for the past 2 years. Much of the interior has been replaced by the interior from an 89 cabriolet. Also, I have put the alloy wheels from an 89 cabriolet on it. It will come with both the 89 wheels and the original 88 wheels (with all center caps). 6 of the 8 tires have plenty of life left.This car has controls for cruise control and A/C. Putting the finishing touches on it and hoping to have it done by 5-11-12. Runs and drives great! Very quick! Only selling because the wife needs a new car, her mazda quit on her. Hoping to pass it on to someone who will finish what I started and make this thing as awesome as I wanted it to be. It´s a four cylinder so it´s great on gas! it comes with 6 stock rims and tires and a set of 4 17 inch rims. Interior is in very good shape, no tears or holes, a few light stains. New front tires with less than 1k miles in them. Fresh oil change, new front brake calipers, rear wheel cylinders, master cylinder and brand new brake lines all around. Brand new battery and belts, also brand new muffler. Now the bad. The drivers window is the only one that works. The rear drivers side door handle is broken. The only rust is on the left rear fender. The car doesn´t have a radio. The drivers side mirror is broken. It is not a flashy or impressive car but it is very solid and has many miles left in it. Would be a great daily gas saver or a great first car for you teenager. Will entertain any offer.
