I bought the car for my wife and she loves in but I find myself driving it much more than her. We have kids and she will only drive it if she is by herself. My loss is your gain. You will not find a VW in better condition than this for the money. It is an automatic which is rare to begin with. The top is in perfect condition as it was replaced a year ago. It has all new tires, brakes, rotors, brake lines, shocks, belts, hoses, plugs, wires, distributor cap, and much more. We had plans on painting the car white but decided to sell. I have new stainless steel feature strips for the fenders and doors on both sides. I put new door handles on the car as well as locks. The dash is completely replaced with new gauges as well as all new trim pieces. It has a CD player in it that works well but I never fastened it to the inside of the dash as I wasnt sure we were going to keep it. I am throwing all extra parts in with the purchase of the car. I fixed all of the wiring to the lights. There are minor details that will need to be addressed but it is ready for the road. I just had it inspected and it passed with flying colors as well as emissions. This car is ready to roll. The heat works great as I drove it to work last week in the cold weather. Details: I am the second owner of this well maintained and kept 1999 ´New´ Jetta TDI. I´m finally selling the car because I simply cannot store it any longer. I´ve owned this car since 2005 and have been spoiled by its 40-50 MPG made possible by the diesel engine and five-speed manual transmission. Due to frequent long road trips for school and work, I´ve driven the odometer up to nearly 224,000 miles. However, don´t let the mileage discourage you as this engine is known to reach over 500,000 miles if properly cared for. I´ve kept meticulous records of the Jetta´s maintenance and servicing. Most recently, the car passed inspection without any trouble in July 2011. All new tires were installed in April 2011 (with loads of tread left). I replaced the front ball joints in December 2010 and front brakes in July 2010. The AC is cold. The five disc cd changer, radio, and sound system are excellent. The interior is in good shape with no tears or stains. Of course, with a car this age, there are a few ´wear and tear´ issues to be noted. The glove box hinge and cup holder are broken (this was actually due to a known defect for this generation of the Jetta). The driver side front door lock only works with the turn of the key, the push button locks work for the other three doors. There is a slight ´clunking noise´ coming from the front end over bumps which I believe is due to a bad sway bar bushing (which would be an easy fix). I´ve priced the car against the average going rate listed on autotrader.com at $4000, but will take reasonable offers . Details: I am the second owner of this well maintained and kept 1999 ´New´ Jetta TDI. I´m finally selling the car because I simply cannot store it any longer. I´ve owned this car since 2005 and have been spoiled by its 40-50 MPG made possible by the diesel engine and five-speed manual transmission. Due to frequent long road trips for school and work, I´ve driven the odometer up to nearly 224,000 miles. However, don´t let the mileage discourage you as this engine is known to reach over 500,000 miles if properly cared for. I´ve kept meticulous records of the Jetta´s maintenance and servicing. Most recently, the car passed inspection without any trouble in July 2011. All new tires were installed in April 2011 (with loads of tread left). I replaced the front ball joints in December 2010 and front brakes in July 2010. The AC is cold. The five disc cd changer, radio, and sound system are excellent. The interior is in good shape with no tears or stains. Of course, with a car this age, there are a few ´wear and tear´ issues to be noted. The glove box hinge and cup holder are broken (this was actually due to a known defect for this generation of the Jetta). The driver side front door lock only works with the turn of the key, the push button locks work for the other three doors. There is a slight ´clunking noise´ coming from the front end over bumps which I believe is due to a bad sway bar bushing (which would be an easy fix). I´ve priced the car against the average going rate listed on autotrader.com at $4000, but will take reasonable offers .
